a short description of this entry
today I am mainly being an optometrist. took mom to have her eyes tested this morning cos she's been having lots of problems with her sight and balance and since she was diagnsed with diabetes last week (did I tell you that bit yet?) the doc said she should get her eyes checked out. anyway. shes now got an urgent referral to a specialist at the county hospital (where she's just had her radio therapy) cos she is presenting with reduced peripheral vision which is known as homonymous hemianopia, she also has large pigmentation and macular change. jeez my diary is gonna have some fantastic google hits again this week! so. off to docs again on monday (me at 8.30 her at 10.20) and wait around for an appointment to come thru to see the specialist at the hopsital. I've done a few searches and it could be linked to her blood pressure problems orit could be a brain tumour or it could be any number of other things inbetween. i went to the ministry of doom again yesterday and put in my rapid reclaim and I start signing on again on tuesday then again on andy's birthday. i was hoping to make it up to the land of scots early in january but it may well have to wait. again. in other news I've also put in a claim for disability living allowance for mum - I'm really not sure if she is entitledto anything or not but a number of people suggested i claim (including one of the ladies at the job centre) so I finally got that all completed yesterday and its been sent off. the next thing is likely to be a reassessment of my situation to see if i am actually in the league of being a carer. feck. so some more paperwork is likely to be needed to be completed. my life has changed so much in the past five months. its not better or worse exactly, its just so completely different. kev is back from rome and we had a nice night last night jsut mucking around and watching telly and drinking large amounts of alcohol. he's moving out on friday *sob* so we just have one more week of our soap opera comedy docu drama "the windies" in the big pussy house and then hes off to do christmas things with his family until project gulliver two reasches its launch date milestone on december 29th. eeek! oh and I've finished the heliclear tablets and am feeling ok at the moment. more eek!
