assault and batteries

I forgot to say that the last entry was as a result of typing "vanessa needs" into google.

anyway

since monday I have had complete chaos. I was booked to go to see my friend esther who lives in walthamstow and I had decided to drive rather than get two trains and worry about station parking and stuff. so I set off after a few false starts sorting out stuff for mum, and on my way realised the battery light on my car was remaining on. not a great sign. texted a couple of people who said it just meant the battery was a bit low, so I figured the run would charge it up. but it didnt go out. and when I got to esthers it took ages for the interior light to come on in the car - so I figured I might have to call out the aa before heading home. that decided we ventured into the land of birthday celebrations and ordered a curry to eat in at esthers - hoorah! nick joined us and great fun was had by all talking about tractor porn and blythe dolls and celebrity big brother.

tuesday morning est and I both woke about 6am and made coffee and went back to respective beds for snoozes then we had showers and sorted outrselves out to go to our girlie day out in central london. she'd won an ebay auction so was of course delighted but got a message from another ebayer warning her that the auction may be a scam - so that put a real downer on things.

eventually we headed off to the station to go into central london with esther wondering if she'd actually remembered to stop bleeding the radiator or would infact her whole house be flooded and possibly burnt down due to electrical failure when we got back. not that we are drama queens or anything.

we arrived at liverpool street and stomped into benefit and asked if we could play with make up - they did both of us and even I was conned into getting some lipbalm. after having sausage and mash and eating chocolate and buying chocolate and wandering round spitalfields and the new shops at liverpool street we got the train back to walthamstow and I treated me est and my bunion to a cab back to her place - which wasnt burnt down or flooded fortunately.

her former "friend" max had arrived to collect his stuff from her spare room and had managed to get his van clamped - DOH! and then my car wouldnt start as predicted - DOH! then the battery on my mobile phone ran out - DOH!

however - AA were called out and got my car started but it needed a new alternator so I had to source one and a garage that would fit it all at 3.30pm on a cold tuesday afternoon in an area of london I am not really familiar with, with only the assistance of three people who dont own a car between them. ahem. but I managed it and got the aa man to follow me to the place with the alternator and then he started my car again so I could go to the garage where the lovely man worked on it for me whilst I tried to get cash out of my bank account - DOH! my giro hadnt cleared so no cash for noo. (bit worried cos it woudnt even let me have like a tenner ya know so thats shite) - went back to garage with a story about having reached my daily limit and paid him by cheque bless him (thank goodness for cheque guarantee cards). THEN. started to amuse myself by taking some photos whilst waiting for car to be finished and the battery on my camera ran out - DOH! and when I got into the car to start the journey home, where the battery on the car had been disconnected so the guy could work on it, the code on the radio needs re inputting so I had to drive home for two hours in the rush hour with no radio or stereo. DOH!

today, I am staying in bed.
